McWhorter Coat of Arms

The established family line begins with David McWhorter/McWhirter in Pennsylvania in 1741. It is generally believed that the line originates in Scotland, emigrates to Northern Ireland and from there to the United States, probably Deleware. Our family line migrates to North Carolina, South Carolina and Forsyth County, Georgia in 1869.

Our McWhorter Line journeys from Pennsylvania in 1741 to the Carolinas and then to Georgia in 1869. My wife's G Grandfather Allen Dean McWhorter and other(s) of his family seems to be the first in our line to establish residency in Forsyth County, Georgia.
